Cindy Lou Poynter, 26, of Kittredge, Colo., former Wichitan, Cobe International engineer, died Friday. Service 1 p.m. Tuesday, Cochran Mortuary.
Survivors: parents, Carrol M. and Mariann Poynter of Wichita; brothers, A.C Poynter, Carrol Jr.; sisters, Beth McCoy, Darlene Cornfield, Sandy Perry, all of Wichita; grandparents, Cathleen Francis of Wichita, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Nardine of Trinidad, Colo. Memorial has been established with Odd Fellow’s Eye Bank, Cochran Mortuary.

Cindy and I walked together in our Senior commencement graduation. Her friendship was appreciated and reflect fun times of the past.Rest in peace, Cindy.

i met Cindy in 1966 when she moved to our Country Acres neighborhood. We quickly became very close friends over the following 6 years until we kinda lost contact with each other during our sophomore year at West. Cindy was a true "Tom Boy" who could out-run and out-wrestle her male peers. i gather she moved to Colorado after graduation and died in a car crash there in the early 1980's. A true jewel of a friend.
